All STS placement partners in the U.S.A. are approved by the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET), the American authority that supervises all exchange organizations. How Does STS Offer Such Low-Priced Quality Programs?
In order to guarantee low-cost high-quality programs, STS receives a tuition-free spot and a voluntary host family in every country offered for every departing Canadian student. In return, STS provides the same service to every foreign exchange student coming to Canada. Therefore, STS exchange program costs are based on the premise that the local school boards and student families agree to host an exchange student for at least 5 months (10 for a school year exchange).

The outbound student family has the option to select an alternate host family for the incoming student in their name and school board. If the family is not willing to host and an alternate family not an option, STS charges the outbound family a monthly fee for another family to host in their name. The local school board determines the fee in this scenario.

STS programs are not house-to-house exchanges unless specifically arranged, meaning you can go to France on your exchange and host someone from Brazil, for example. If you have any questions, please call us toll-free at 1-855-815-1010 for more information.
